Carefully read the label for washing instructions. If any of the tips that will be mentioned below is different from the directions in the label, always follow the instructions as stated by the manufacturer.
Before washing your jeans, empty the pockets and turn the jeans inside out. Wash your jeans separately from other laundry items. If you are washing new jeans, the color may possibly bleed and would stain the other items.
Get the washing machine ready. Warm water is best for washing jeans. It does not cause as much shrinking, wrinkling and fading. Do not overload your washing machine. Jeans are quite heavy and can absorb lots of water. When washing is done, you may choose to use the dryer or air-dry your jeans. If you want to air-dry your jeans, this is the time to turn the jeans right side out and hang them by the waist using a pants hanger. Do not dry your jeans in direct sunlight to prevent them from fading fast. Should you decide to use a dryer, use the lowest temperature setting.
